Alessia Cara 10.04.2016

Alessia Cara was the first concert I went to, and it was also her first tour. I went to this concert freshmen year with my friend Sophia. I was a huge Alessia Cara fan, so not only was this my first concert, but it was also for an artist I was in awe of. At the time, a lot of Alessia’s music was about what it was like to be a teenager in today’s society: the joys, the downfalls, and just about everything in between. As a freshman in high school, I really related to a lot of her lyrics and her songs made me feel as though someone out there, specifically someone in the media, understood. The concert was at Radio City Music Hall which in my opinion is an amazing concert venue because of how small it is. The small venue made the songs come across as even more personal and that is something I truly appreciate at any concert. The one downfall of the Alessia Cara concert was that it was her first tour. This isn’t a comment on her talent or ability to perform well, but on the lack of content. At this point in time Alessia’s had only released one album, so in a way the concert felt like it was over as soon as it’d begun which was definitely a little disappointing. Looking back, however, even though the concert felt like it had been cut short it was an amazing first, and I would definitely see Alessia again.
